The alleged killers of Sylvester Omoroni Jr has been freed by Lagos State Police following his autopsy report.
Sylvester was said to have been beaten severely and given a chemical substance by four SS2 boys – 16 year old Favour Benjamin and Edward Begue, 15 year old Michael Kashamu and Kenneth Inyang and 14 year old Ansel Temile.
Toxicology reports in December from Central Hospital Warri and Lagos State Teaching Hospital declared Slyvester’s main cause of death was due to septicaemia hence the Lagos state’s Deputy Commissioner of Police ordered the release of boys as there is “no prima facie case of murder, involuntary manslaughter and or malicious administering of poison with intent to harm”.
The report stated that the full cause of death is Septecemia, Lobar Pneumonia with Acute Pyelonephritis, Pyomyositis of the right ankle and Acute Bacteria Pneumonia due to severe sepsis.
Sylvester died four days shy of his birthday on 30th November 2021. A coroner’s inquest is expected to commence on January 15, 2022.
