Peter and Paul of P-Square have finally reunited after 5 years of a bitter public battle – much to the excitement of fans.
News of the much loved Nobody Ugly and Bank Alert singing twins’ reconciliation began to circulate early in November when they both re-followed each other on social media before Paul’s estranged wife, Anita, shared a video of Peter taking their kids on a shopping spree, then Paul celebrated Peter and Lola’s 8th anniversary and both artists wished each other happy birthday on November 18th.
It has been a long five years for the twins and their fans since they officially called it quits as P-Square in 2016.
Long before they separated, there had be in-fights between Paul, Peter and their manager and elder brother, Jude Okoye.
According to an interview by The NET, the drama started after Paul began posting P-Square’s song lyrics and claimed he was the writer. Peter was left unimpressed with this act and that of Jude’s, whom he believed was destroying the band, and Paul was not speaking up on their behalf.
Peter resorted to sacking Jude privately, and when Jude refused he sacked him publicly through Twitter.
He recalled: “Four years ago, I told Jude (P-Square’s elder brother and manager) he needs to step down as our manager, because I didn’t want to disrespect him as a brother, but this is business, (and) we have to structure it. And Jude said to me that there’s a way I (should) talk to him, (he threatened to) slap me. So I kept quiet.”
“So, a few hours after, Paul came to me and said if I want to step down it wasn’t a problem, but it meant that he (Paul) would go solo. The first time word got out about P-Square breaking up, a lot of people called us; senators, governors, and people like that.
“In fact, three of us were once in a private jet to go and see someone who wanted to resolve our issues, and we didn’t speak to each other throughout the flight. At the end of the day, I swallowed my pride for peace to reign and allowed Jude to remain as our manager.”
“The day I fired Jude was at a concert,” he said.
“The day I came back, we had a show, so I went straight to the venue in Lagos and told Jude I want to talk to him, and he said I should say anything I want to say in front of everyone, (which) was the same attitude Paul gave me before I travelled.
“So Jude said if I like, I should get out, and I said ‘guy don’t embarrass me.’ He said who are you, because you think you are P-Square? So I told him openly that if he cannot resolve me and Paul’s issue, he doesn’t deserve to be our manager, and he said I should get out. There and then I told him ‘You are fired.’ He looked at me and said, ‘You fit fire me?’ That was when I entered my car and started tweeting. How else can you take him out?”

In the midst of this, it was also alleged Paul and Jude had turned on Peter’s wife Lola because she is a Yoruba woman and not Igbo – where they originate from. This was further highlighted in 2020 when Paul called out Lola for wishing them a happy birthday and reconciliation.
Their official split in 2016 had Paul and Jude on one side and Peter on the other.
It all hit a high when a video recorded by Peter at their lawyers office, released by Linda Ikeji’s Blog showed Jude saying if Peter dared trespassed his house, he should just bring his coffin with him – which suggests he will kill him.
All this is now in the past since their reconciliation – no one or family is too big for quarrelling and settling.
