Dubbed the unmissable wedding of 2017, Adesua and Banky’s traditional Nigerian wedding saw celebrities and guests descend in numbers to the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos, showcasing their personalities through individual styles, make-up and overall look.
The ceremony’s official colours were maroon-velvet for men and pink for ladies.
Among the star studded men, Ebuka, Noble Igwe and Iceberg Slim made their mark, enhancing the simplicity of their attire with embellishments, while the women – Juliet Ibrahim, Stephanie Coker and Linda – stunned in simple yet exciting designs that embraced the beauty of the petal-adorned material.
MasterKraft, Toyin Abraham and Lilian Esoro among others adored by thousands of fans baffled in odd under-prepared and over-designed outfits that begged the question – why now?
‘Why Now?’ styles

The asoebi material assigned to the ladies was a petal-adorned pretty pink material that requires delicacy and subtle enhancements.
Nancy Isime wore a dress and head-tie which are beautiful pieces individually but when combined presents as over-dressed.

Toyin Abraham’s shapely dress had a maxed out bust area petal concentration plus lilac ruffled materials added to the shoulder and knee areas. Meanwhile platinum record producer, Master Kraft chose to attend the wedding in a plain maroon-velvet shirt, ripped jeans and trainers.

OAP’s Gbemi and actress Lilian Esoro had their outfits made by notable fashion designers.
Gbemi wore a Tubo marooned skirt with a jagged-edged halterneck top while Lilian attended in a Fab Lane by Derin dress that seemed to have an extra piece of well folded cloth placed symmetrically on top.
Tubo also made fashion writer, Oyin Adenuga’s petal-concentrated floor length dress with an off-shoulder, ruffled short-sleeves.

Sola Sobowale’s style in The Wedding Party as Dunni’s mummy are unmatched. Playing mother of the day in the real occassion, she wore a skirt matched with a heavily beaded top. Her make-up and charisma brought the full look to life.
Whereas, MUA, Ella, wore an off-shoulder, strap, slit, see through dress matched with lots of shines and Destiny Amaka flaunted a multi coloured flowery pink style coupled with a big shoulder bow and an equally large gele.

The YaSS styles

With these outfits, certain guests (and their tailors) understood how to give their material a meaningful existence.
Actresses Juliet Ibrahim and Stephanie Coker stunned in two different yet simply beautiful outfits.
Juliet wore a floor length petal-focused skirt and blouse with lilac undergarment, while Stephanie chose to adorn her dress with targeted splash of the official material mixed with flesh coloured mesh and thigh-high slit.

Presenter, Dr Idia is seen in a refreshing baby pink floral-adorned off-shoulder princess like dress, while like husband, like wife, Ebuka’s missus, Cynthia presented an off-shoulder below-the-knee length dress with exciting ruffled sleeves matched ruffled lower front designs.
Mrs Osas Ighodaro complimented her shape in an Iconic Invanity one-arm-boob-tubed dress with delicately placed embroidery.

Actress Rukky Sanda brought something different, a combination of a simple yet beautiful 6-piece skirt with an off-shoulder crop top.
Respectable cleveage styles were on show as Somkele Iyamah ruffled feathers with a cute off-shoulder ankle length dress while UK born Ms Dorcas Shola Fapson opted for a floor length embrace-your-shoulder-with-confidence dress.


Miss Lami Phillips stuns in a floral concentrated top matched with a skirt, while Adesua’s bestie, Ihuoma Linda Ejiofor’s dress exaggerates the beauty of the material. Starting subtly with a blend of lilac, then finishing off at the tail end with a bevy of petal. Miss Nigeria’s Omowummi Akinnifesi accentuated her floral dress with an eye catching bow.

Naija Big Brother Presenter Ebuka broke men’s style boundary in this Ugo Monye’s detailed deconstructed agbada.
Alternate embroidery styles also emerged from Banky W’s best friend, Tunde Demerun, opting for hints of red with diagonal embroidery while style icon, Mr Noble Igwe went truly Igbo with a subtle purple embroidery design matched with a walking stick.

The traditional wedding was flocked by celebrity guests many of whom are not featured but are in #baad2015 searches on Instagram.
They provided a huge array of styles with more expected to come from Banky and Adesua’s white wedding scheduled to take place over the weekend in Cape Town, South Africa.
