Some hours ago, Tonto Dikeh sent a public apology to Mercy Johnson for calling her 1st child – Purity – a witch back in 2013.
Credit to you Tonto for your courage and maturity but you could have done a little bit of research to find out the sex of Purity instead of saying ‘lil girl or boy’, its been 4 years unless it was a typo or a deflection from something else?
What happened around 4 years ago was that Mercy had baby Purity – A GIRL – in Maryland, US and went back to work from maternity leave 4 months later.
Tonto who had some kind of beef with that tweeted:
Mercy Johnson supposedly replied back:
It was a friend who called to tell me a colleague in Nollywood is questioning my decision to go back to acting soon. I only asked her a question, I said: ‘Did the actress mention my name?’ she said no.
But my fans are insinuating that she was talking about me, so they fired back at her with insult and all. I am a moving train by the special grace of God in heaven. I will continue to do good for myself and my fans who have stood by me all these years.
I have no beef with nobody. I am a cool person and I hate and fear troubles. I always pray for those that wish for my downfall.
So 4 years on, Tonto apologises…but…eh Victoria Inyama – our much loved old school Nollywood actress now based in USA – had a point to make on the matter:
